Hot zone part two
How to prevent an outbreak -
There would be routine medical examinations on the primates by a licensed veterinarian weekly. Daily visual check ups of animals by cage are also performed. For sanitation measures, cage and shipment cleanings before and after every export. Weekly cleanings while animals are in storage. There would be proper storage of the animals within regulations, and half the number of required monkeys per cage to prevent disease. Proper feeding for nutrition and vitamins as well as adequate hydration to keep animals in peak health conditions. Using the biosafety levels my team and I would use our resources to develop a cure, and stop the further spread of the outbreak. I would then work to further the examination of my monkeys before they are exported.
How I would manage an outbreak-
The animals that are infected would be separated immediately as when noticed ill. These animals are given increased fluids and any necessary medical attention. Any animals possibly exposed to such disease would be put into special containment for three weeks to ensure the disease does not spread. If the pathogen is deadly all monkeys that display symptoms would be euthanized with a lethal dose of anesthesia. People around the area would be notified of such disease affecting the animals. They would also educated on modes of transmissions and how the spread can be prevented. This could be done through community email, banners, or flyers.
Biosafety-
Different Biosafety Levels-
~E. Coli, Salmonella , Staphylococcus aureus
*Special Practices performed at this level*
Basic Lab safety would be used, basic personal safety equipment (goggles, gloves), and hand washing.
~Influenza, HIV, Lyme disease
*Special Practices performed at this level*
There would be slightly advanced personal safety equipment being used, safety cabinets will be there, and biohazard warning signs.
~Tuberculosis, Yellow Fever, West Nile
*Special practices performed at this level*
~Respirators may be necessary, solid scrubs with coveralls may be required, and there will be restricted access.
~Ebola, Marburg, Lassa
*Special practices performed at this level*
~ There will be an extremely Isolated Lab, a bio seal is used, and space suits are worn.

- Safety Precautions-
Different Biosafety Levels-
- Level One: Lowest level of biohazard, low-risk diseases, basic lab safety practiced
~E. Coli, Salmonella , Staphylococcus aureus
*Special Practices performed at this level*
Basic Lab safety would be used, basic personal safety equipment (goggles, gloves), and hand washing.
- Level Two: Works with basic human diseases, and has a moderate risk to one health, moderate lab safety practiced
~Influenza, HIV, Lyme disease
*Special Practices performed at this level*
There would be slightly advanced personal safety equipment being used, safety cabinets will be there, and biohazard warning signs.
- Level Three: Serious or even lethal pathogens, work in these labs is strictly regulated by the government,
~Tuberculosis, Yellow Fever, West Nile
*Special practices performed at this level*
~Respirators may be necessary, solid scrubs with coveralls may be required, and there will be restricted access.
- Level Four- highest level of biosafety, very rare labs, highly dangerous and lethal pathogens
~Ebola, Marburg, Lassa
*Special practices performed at this level*
~ There will be an extremely Isolated Lab, a bio seal is used, and space suits are worn.
